Celebrating Palestine at Fairtrade Fortnight
“On his wedding anniversary, Yusef and his young daughter set out in the West Bank to buy his wife a gift. Between soldiers, segregated roads and checkpoints, how easy would it be to go shopping?”
For “Fairtrade Fortnight”, we will be screening the film “The Present” which is Oscar-nominated and winner of the Best British Short Film Bafta Award 2021, directed by Farah Nabulsi.
Alison from Kairos, Reading will talk about her project of planting 100 olive trees to keep hope alive for Palestinian farmers.
There will be a Zaytoun stall of Palestinian fair trade goods (cash preferred) and a Palestinian Harvest Exhibition will be displayed.
Refreshments will be served. Free entry, but donations welcome.
